FAQ's
Our frequently asked questions
Where is your sleepwear made?
Chilli & Charli is designed in Australia and made in China, in a factory that specialises in bamboo fabric production.
We believe comfort feels even better when it's conscious. The bamboo fabric used in our sleepwear is sourced from a SMETA-audited facility, meaning the raw material production meets global standards for ethical sourcing, safe working conditions and environmental care. Our garment manufacturing is currently working towards the same certification.
How is your bamboo made?
Our bamboo fabric is produced using a closed-loop manufacturing process, meaning the water and solvents used are continuously recycled - minimising waste and keeping harmful chemicals out of the environment and away from your skin.
Every fabric we use is also OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certified, meaning the finished product has been independently tested and verified to contain no harmful substances - safe even for sensitive skin.
What fabrics do you use?
We use 100% bamboo viscose fabric for all our sleepwear, eyemasks and scrunchies.
Does Bamboo shrink?
Bamboo fabric is known for its natural softness and eco-friendly properties, but like many natural fibres, it can experience some shrinkage when washed. We have made every effort to pre-shrink our bamboo products during the manufacturing process to minimize this effect. However, it is common for slight shrinkage to occur after the first few washes due to the inherent nature of bamboo fibers. To reduce shrinkage, we recommend following the care instructions provided for best results. Our sets are all designed as relaxed fit, however if you prefer an oversized fit, we recommend sizing up.
Help! My bamboo PJ's have shrunk. What do I do?
Don’t worry - bamboo is a natural fibre and can shrink slightly after washing. In many cases, the fabric will relax again with wear. You can also gently stretch the garment while it’s still damp, or use a low-heat iron and a gentle pull to help restore its original shape. To avoid further shrinkage, we recommend air drying, as heat from tumble dryers can cause bamboo fibres to contract.
When do you go on sale?
We only run two sitewide sales per year, during Black Friday and mid-year. We do have end-of-season stock available in our Sale collection.
What are the benefits of bamboo sleepwear?
Bamboo sleepwear has some seriously good things going for it. Our fabric is incredibly soft and smooth against the skin, naturally breathable and thermoregulating - making it ideal for hot sleepers, sensitive skin, and everything in between.
Bamboo is also a fast-growing, renewable resource, making it one of the more environmentally considered choices in textile production. And because our fabric is OEKO-TEX® certified, you can sleep easy knowing it's been independently tested and verified to be free from harmful substances.
What is OEKO-Tex Standard 100?
OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 is a label for textiles tested for harmful substances. It sets the benchmark for textile safety, from yarn to finished product. Every item bearing the STANDARD 100 label is certified as having passed safety tests for the presence of harmful substances.

What is the wash care?
Your sleepwear sets are already pre-washed. However, we recommend giving them a quick wash before your very first wear to get the best results for ultimate comfort! Please note bamboo is a delicate fabric and must be on a gentle cycle and washed in a wash bag.
Machine wash cold with like colours and non-snag items. Gentle cycle. No fabric softener. Do not bleach. Line dry. Low iron if needed.
